More details

There is a ubuntu version

It teaches the language Ruby.

The problem with hacketyhack is that it is it's own language. It's a language that very few people use and has very little documentation. It might be a great language for children to learn programming if a lot of people used it. But right now it's not maintained, so it's probably not a good way to learn programming.
