We wrote a short lesson to make a short movie that a kid will enjoy. Alien robot teaches kid robot a trick. This "movie" was made up by a 7 year old child simply playing on the computer!

A 7 year old made this "movie" up working alone after watching someone else do the first lesson (chapter 2) in this Alice book.

PART ONE: MAKE THE WORLD
Pick the world "Space"

(If Alice is already open, open a new world with "File" -- "New World". "File is on the top menu bar, like in most programs.)

Click "add objects"

Choose the gallery "SciFi"

Add badGuyRobot. Add kidRobot. Add dropShip.

Click "Done" at the bottom right corner of the world scene.

PART TWO: HAVE BIG ROBOT SAY SOMETHING
In the upper left panel, under "world" click "badGuyRobot". Now in the lower left panel, click "methods".

Click badGuyRobot say.

Drag it into method scripting panel.

You can have badGuyRobot say "Hello" or "Goodbye" or "Other". Pick "Other"

Type in "Welcome to the moon."

PART THREE: HAVE KID ROBOT SAY SOMETHING
In the upper left panel, under "world" click "kidGuyRobot". Now in the lower left panel, click "methods".

Click kidGuyRobot say.

Drag it into method scripting panel.

Have kidGuyRobot say "Type in "Teach me something."

PART FOUR: DROPSHIP FALLS
Click on dropShip to see its methods.

Pick the method dropShip move. Drag it into the scripting panel.

Pick move down 10 meters.

PART FIVE: ROBOTS TRANSPORT THEMSELVES AWAY
Click on badGuyRobot.

Pick the method badGuyRobot move. Drag it in. Pick move down 10 meters.

Do the same for kidRobot.

DONE

Hopefully, this will give you a basic idea of how Alice works. Just add more words and more actions to make your own movie.
